Align your interests with the interests of your employees, and you’ll gain a strong and powerful team.
Employees are partners to success. You’re mutually dependent on one another I encourage you to have deeper, more thoughtful conversations with your employees about their career objectives. Maybe they’re asking for a raise, but it isn’t possible. But there might be other ways to help that employee to still achieve their objectives, while being respectful of what is possible for the business.
Having these conversations and building a good rapport is going to produce long-term value, which is absolutely essential to your success. An ongoing challenge for sure, but just continue to develop strong relationships and listen to one another.
